National environmental awareness campaign

PEAS Trust is a registered, non-profit motive and voluntary social service organisation promoted in 1997 by a band of social minded and dedicated youth and women hailing from the bottom strata of rural and tribal society with an overall objective of empowering the rural, urban slums and tribal people on socio-economic, education, health, human rights, cultural upheaval and livelihood development through participatory approach.

PEAS Trust is governed by 5 members board of trustees of whom 3 are women. Following are programmes implemented by PEAS so far:

• Promotion of women self-help (SHGs)
• Group savings and micro credit activities for SHGs women
• Entrepreneurship development programme (EDP) for SHGs members
• Awareness generation programmes for rural women (AGP)
• National environmental awareness campaign (NEAC)
• EDP training on food processing industries
• Revolving loan for income generation of rural and tribal women
• HIV/AIDS prevention education for SHG women, school children and PRI members.
